Our passion is nurturing our talented young people, and for those who are interested in pursuing a professional career in the industry, Act Out offers our students the opportunity to be represented by the Act Out Agency. 

About Act Out Agency

Act Out Agency is managed by our dedicated lead agent, Gemma.

As a mother to not one but two talented working young actors, Gemma not only understands the industry as an agent but also as a parent. She has cultivated a vast network of personal industry contacts, within film, TV, theatre & commercial casting. In addition, she can support parents through the process, from casting to contracts to chaperoning & what to expect on set.

Clients are put forward for professional work including films, TV, theatre, musicals and commercials.

 

The Act Out Team are industry professionals, and work closely with the children on a weekly basis. They are on hand to offer invaluable advice and support with audition prep, self-tapes & preparing for the job. Because we know our students so well, we can qualify castings, submit students for the right jobs & ensure they're confident & prepared for the audition, giving them the best shot at booking the job!

Commission / Fees

Act Out Agency does not charge a fee to join.

 Act Out Agency will take commission on all fees (not including expenses), ranging from 15% to 25%, depending on the job and in line with industry standard.

Clients will be required to have a Spotlight Young Performers Membership (see below). The annual fee is £121.20

 Clients will be required to have professional headshots. Act Out Performing Arts will provided recommendations for trusted, local headshot photographers.

Act Out Agency offer opt-in agency photo shoots throughout the year.

Act Out Agency offer opt-in casting director workshops throughout the year.

How do I join?

Your child must attend Act Out Performing Arts.

All Act Out Performing Arts students are welcome to apply.

Working professionally is a commitment, not only for the young person but also their parent/guardians. It can conflict with school and social commitments.Your child will need to be chaperoned to casting/bookings. Your child will require professional headshots & must join Spotlight; and if professional work is secured, under 16s are required to be licensed by their local education authority.

What is Spotlight?

Spotlight is the UK’s leading casting platform. Registered casting directors and production companies use the Spotlight to post castings, and registered actors can be submitted for roles by their agent. The annual fee (outlined above) is payable by parents directly to Spotlight.

Act Out Wicked Crew

Suitable for ages 4 - 6 (Reception - Year 1)

Timings = 120 mins


Our introductory classes include Singing, Dance and Drama.


The classes are tailored to make our youngest group feel safe, nurtured and supported. Our dedicated teachers work on developing key skills such as listening, working with others and building confidence, using performing arts games and imagination exercises. We also enjoy craft and storybook activities.


Wicked Crew have termly performance projects & feature in our annual theatre show.

Act Out Primary - Musical Theatre

Suitable for ages 6 - 11 (Years 2 - 6)

After-School Timings = 135 mins

Saturday School Timings = 180 mins


Our Musical Theatre Sessions include Dance, Singing & Drama.


Students are split into age-appropriate groups & rotate throughout the session; working with experienced, industry professional teachers.


Students work towards termly performance projects including an Annual Theatre Show, Filming projects and Outdoor performances.

Act Out Primary - Drama

Suitable for ages 6 - 11 (Years 2 - 6)

Timings = 60 mins

 

Our Drama Sessions are standalone lessons in Acting.

 

Classes are taught by professional actors and focus on drama and acting. Sessions include script work, acting for stage & screen, public speaking, devising and physical theatre.

 

Students work towards termly performance projects including an Annual Play (at a professional theatre), In-house presentations, Theatre Festivals, Filming projects and Outdoor performances.

Act Out Seniors - Musical Theatre

Suitable for ages 11 - 16 (Years 7 - 11)

Timings = 180 mins


Senior classes are run exclusively for secondary school students, and provide the perfect next step for anyone looking to take performing arts more seriously.


The students work with industry professional teachers and Musical Theatre sessions include dance, singing & drama.


Students work towards termly performance projects including an Annual Theatre Show, Filming projects, Theatre Festivals and Outdoor performances.

Act Out Seniors - Acting

Suitable for ages 11 - 16 (Years 7 - 11)

Timings = 60 mins

 

Senior classes are run exclusively for secondary school students, and our Acting Classes suit students who would like to focus on drama & acting.

 

Classes are taught by professional actors and sessions include script work, acting for stage & screen, audition technique, Shakespeare projects & devising.

 

Students work towards termly performance projects including an Annual Play (at a professional theatre), In-house presentations, Theatre Festivals, Filming projects and Outdoor performances.

LAMDA

Suitable for ages 6 - 18


Lamda offer practical exams in Acting and Verse & Prose (similar to a music exam.)


LAMDA Classes

Students choose & work on speeches in preperation for LAMDA exam and are entered into exams throughout the year.
